Mission and vision

The mission of the project is to prevent and reduce harm inflicted on children by substance misuse related adult domestic violence, child abuse and neglect. Our vision is to reach a substantial proportion of professionals working with children in the partnering countries, and to build up their awareness and capacity to empower children affected by domestic violence within the countries belonging to the ENCARE Network.

Objectives

The goal of the project is to increase the capability of professionals in identifying children in this population group and taking effective action to help these children cope with this risky family environment, protect themselves against the harms inflicted, and seek help and protection. This goal will be achieved by raising awareness of the problem among professionals and building up governmental and non-governmental bodies’ capacity to empower and provide help and support to the children and families. An international review will identify good practices, and a web service will allow for exchanging and disseminating them. The process is supported by creating and strengthening international multidisciplinary networks.
